About

Welcome to the second annual UCI Zot Trot Triathlon, and Zot Trot 5K!

Zot Trot Triathlon:
This reverse, sprint distance triathlon is taking place on the beautiful University of California, Irvine campus. The triathlon begins with a 5 km run, followed by an 11.4 mi bike (4 loop course), and will finish with a 250 yd swim in the Anteater Recreation Center (ARC) pool.

The transition area opens at 5:00 am.  The parking lot ("Lot CT") also opens at 5:00 am, at a cost of $7 per car (good all day). See the directions below for more detailed instructions.

***Please note that the bike course is a CLOCKWISE loop.  You will be riding on the left side of the road.  The course is fully closed so you will not need to worry about cars. ***

Many of Orange County's top amateur and professional triathletes will be participating in the UCI Zot Trot Triathlon. In addition, the race also counts for points in the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Converence (WCCTC) Series. Athletes from schools throughout the WCCTC will be attending.  Last year's event featured top athletes from UCSD, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Cal Poly, and more.

The funds generated from the race will be used for training equipment, coaching, travel expenses, and many other costs associated with running a succesful triathlon team. We are a very new team (in our 3rd year) and look forward to building this program into a local and national competitor.

Zot Trot 5K:
The 5K course is the same as the first leg of the reverse triathlon.  The course (see below) is not flat, and the run surface is a mixture of asphalt and concrete, with the last half mile on grass.

Waves:
The race will be split into two waves.
** Wave 1 starts at 7:00 am.  You are in wave 1 if you are a male triathlete or any 5K runner.
** Wave 2 starts at 8:00 am.  You are in wave 2 if you are a female triathlete.

Registration: Closed

Thank you all for helping us put on a great race.  We hope to see you all again next year!
